Remember, this year, taxes are due April 15–that’s just over a month away– which means you have just over a month to donate to the Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund!
The Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund is financed by the Colorado tax checkoff program which provides tax payers the opportunity to contribute a portion of their tax return or to make a donation to assist locally-based projects that contribute to cleaner water, healthier wildlife habitat and improved recreation throughout the state.
The Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund has funded 72 local restoration projects since 2003. Make a donation on your tax return and help support great projects like the Tamarisk Coalition‘s Ecotype Specific Riparian Restoration Plant Materials Project in 2011. With funding from the Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund, the Tamarisk Coalition was able to further the efforts of their Native Plant Materials Program by hosting relevant and needed training on seed collection and riparian restoration techniques for agencies, non-profits, and landowners in the Grand Junction area. They were also able to begin working towards their goal of providing native plant for restoration efforts.
Help the Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund support more projects than ever in 2014 and make a donation on your state income tax return!
Donations to the Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund can be made on line 42 of the Colorado Individual income tax return (form 104). Ask your tax consultant to include your donation!
