Briefly: California reduces Delta pumping amid ample reservoirs and snowpack

According to the Sacramento Bee, this week California water managers halved the amount of water being pumped from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The reduction comes at a time when the reservoirs are nearly full. Environmental regulations require pumping to be reduced in the spring months to protect fish, including spring-run Chinook salmon, Delta smelt and longfin smelt.
