The Los Angeles Times reports that a California startup, led by a Nobel Prize winner, has created a new device that uses metallic organic frameworks, tiny crystalline structures, to pull water from air. The device is receiving interest in part because of the threats to desalination plants in the Middle East due to the conflict in Iran.
