Briefly: Arizona launches aid to cities to combat PFAS contamination

Arizona’s KTAR News reports that the state will spend $5 million, including some federal funding, to help cities and water systems test and treat for contamination caused by “forever chemicals,” or perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). They are common industrial compounds that are widely present in dirt, water and the human body, and until recently had never been regulated.
