CBS Denver reports that Commerce City has sent a letter to Suncor oil refinery notifying them of their intention to file suit under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. Commerce City alleges that Suncor may have polluted the city’s water supply with toxic perfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals.” The mayor of Commerce City says the lawsuit was primarily fueled by a number of complaints that the city received from residents.
