In Brief: Feds approve protections for Garfield County’s Sweetwater Lake

According to The Colorado Sun, the White River National Forest’s request for Land and Water Conservation Fund money to protect Garfield County’s Sweetwater Lake has been granted. However, the U.S. Forest Service failed to specify how much of the requested $8.5 million would be distributed. The Great American Outdoors Act requires the Forest Service and the Department of the Interior to submit a detailed description of each project and estimated expenditures; the recently released list lacked dollar figures.
