Briefly: Sea water encroaching on drought-strapped Mississippi River, threatening Louisiana communities

The Washington Post reports that levels in the drought-strapped Mississippi River have dropped so low that sea water is moving up the river, threatening drinking water supplies and prompting a massive effort to hold the salty water back and bring in fresh water to bolster drinking water supplies. Louisiana has asked President Biden to declare a state of emergency to free up federal funds to help combat the problem.
