Briefly: NSF awards Nevada drought-related grant to improve collaborative water initiatives

The Elko Daily News reports that the National Science Foundation has awarded a $150,000 grant to the University of Nevada, Reno as an initial step in creating a new collaborative water partnership for the state that will improve communities’ efforts to cope with drought and ongoing water shortages caused by climate change and population growth. The next step is to apply for a 5-year, $15 million NSF grant aimed at creating sustainable regional water networks.
