Briefly: Mexico to give U.S. more water from shared rivers

According to the New York Times, earlier this month President Trump threatened additional tariffs and sanctions against Mexico over the current water debt of nearly 420 billion gallons. However, on Monday a new agreement was announced in which Mexico will immediately transfer some of its water reserves and give the U.S. a larger share of water from the Rio Grande. This appears to be a move by Mexico to avoid the more harmful tariffs and maintain U.S. diplomatic ties.
