Briefly: Manure runoff is polluting drinking water supplies across the Mountain West, report finds

According to NPR, new research shows that manure runoff from livestock farms is leading to a toxic byproduct called trihalomethanes. This byproduct, polluting drinking water across the U.S is linked to cancer and other health problems. Colorado and other Western states were found to have the highest number of water systems containing unsafe levels of trihalomethanes.
