Briefly: Invasive zebra mussels found in Colorado River near Grand Junction

The Montrose Press reports that invasive zebra mussels were found and appear to be spreading into the Colorado River near Grand Junction and infesting the Government Highline Canal watering Mesa County farms. Officials call the news “devastating.” The voracious aquatic nuisance species can have impacts on everything from irrigation to drinking water systems.
