Briefly: Fountain asks Colorado Springs for short-term water supply

The Gazette reports that the city of Fountain is looking to enter a short-term agreement with Colorado Springs Utilities to support its growing water needs. A recent water master planning process indicated that residents could need about four times as much water in the future as they use now. Fountain is currently working on a new reservoir so they can use water rights they already own. Colorado Springs Utilities confirmed the receipt of Fountain’s request and is considering it on a case-by-case basis.
