Briefly: Federal government backs total nationwide removal of lead pipes

The Washington Post reports that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has issued a new ruling that will force water utilities across the country to replace aging lead pipes, a move that would remove the toxin from water supplies and which could cost up to $45 billion.
