Briefly: California launches emergency salmon rescue to save dwindling species

The Los Angeles Times reports that California fish and wildlife workers and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have embarked on an “urgent” mission to rescue young chinook salmon and breed them in captivity, after their numbers dropped dramatically this year.
