Briefly: New Mexico’s approach to aging water systems can lead to leaks, shortages

According to the Albuquerque Journal, cities across the state of New Mexico are facing water shortages simply as a result of leaky pipes. However, the many municipalities’ current approach to updating old water systems and fixing leaks involves funding projects in a piecemeal fashion, rather than funding entire projects up front, leaving cities with even more problems to fix.
