Briefly: Data shows Rio Grande water shortage is not just due to Mexico’s lack of water deliveries

According to the Texas Tribune, the Rio Grande river is facing shortages due to a decreased capacity of the Amistad and Falcon international reservoirs. However, this is a complex issue due to a 1944 water treaty with Mexico and new data showing lower inflows from the U.S side of the river.
