Briefly: California’s deep snow hard on some species, a godsend to others

The Los Angeles Times reports that California’s ultra deep mountain snows are having surprising impacts in the wildlife world, with species such as the sage grouse at risk, in part because their habitat is still buried in white stuff, leaving them few places to hide from predators.
