Chalkbeat Colorado reports that under a new 2022 law, some 5,800 elementary schools and child care centers in Colorado will have to test their water for lead by May 31, 2023. Schools with elevated lead levels in their water will have to make fixes. The law marks the first time that Colorado has established regulations on lead in school drinking water.
