The Denver Post reports that Colorado lawmakers, in a bipartisan effort, are considering funding a plan that would pay homeowners and businesses across the state to replace water-guzzling lawns with drought-resistant plantings that require much less water. Some communities already do this, but if approved, the law would significantly expand turf replacement, helping cities slash outdoor water use.
