Briefly: Dougco Commissioners cancel water export meeting in San Luis Valley

The Alamosa Citizen reports that Douglas County Commissioners have canceled a day of public meetings in the San Luis Valley to gather local public comment on a proposed plan to export water from the valley and ship it to the fast-growing Front Range. The meetings had been planned for March 26. Commissioners said they were concerned that the day of meetings would be disrupted by potential protests by San Luis Valley residents who oppose the plan.
