Briefly: LA’s $556M plan to capture stormwater mired in delays

The Los Angeles Times reports that an innovative effort to treat and capture some of the city’s prolific stormwaters have yet to deliver H20 to the drought-strapped region four years after voters approved the funding. City officials say the undertaking is complicated. Roughly $95 million in projects have been approved of the $556 million allotted. Experts believe it could take 30 to 50 years before the effort yields 300,000 acre-feet per year as promised.
