According to the Los Angeles Times, the Center for Watershed Sciences at UC Davis reports that California’s reservoirs are 50% lower than they should be this time of year. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation reports that the state’s largest surface water reservoir, Lake Shasta, is at 38% of capacity. The state was expecting 500,000 acre-feet of water to flow into reservoirs and unfortunately never got it.
